8HR First Responder Awareness (FRA)

Training Description:

Hazmat First Responder Awareness refers to individuals who are likely to witness or discover a hazardous substance release and who have been trained to initiate an emergency response sequence by notifying the proper authorities of the release. This also includes notifying nearby employees while making sure they do not expose themselves to the hazards. An Awareness level employee does not take any further action to contain nor stop the spill or release. This course focuses on developing the basic skills needed to understand and evaluate the hazards as well as obtaining the appropriate assistance necessary for a spill or release. This course meets OSHA requirements under 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910.120(q)(6)(ii), the California Code of Regulations Title 8, Section 5192 as well as any HAZWOPER training requirements for the EPA.
